How to make the most of your private health insurance this EOFY!

Fun fact, 100% of the full time SOTM team are glasses wearers!

EOFY is coming, so don’t forget this one thing… The end of financial year is almost here and if you have private health insurance, it could be a good idea to make the most of your extras before EOFY rolls around.

Why? Well, some health insurance providers use the calendar year for when your annual maximum extras reset, but others go by the financial year, which is tricky because a lot of us forget and just go by the calendar year – confession, we have definitely been here!

So, if you have private health insurance and your insurance ticks over to a new year on July 1, then it’s important to make the most of your extras like optical, dental etc to make the most of your health cover.

You can easily check to see when your insurance resets by calling your provider or flicking through your contract which, if you’re like Victoria, will be filed away somewhere that makes good sense, and if you’re like Georgia, will be filed away in the bottom of your sock drawer for reasons no one can explain. We respect you no matter which camp you fall into.

SOTM hot tip: lots of services that Aussies have listed on their private health insurance make the most of this time to offer potential customers the best deals on their services. For example, our mates at Specsavers, who are currently having their Huge Half-Year Sale.

This huge sale means you can save 50% on all sunnies and a great range of selected single style frames from brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Alex Perry, Country Road, Marc Jacobs, Kylie Minogue, DKNY and more, helping to reduce any out of pocket which is very much a money win.

To snap up as many money wins as possible at this time, it’s a really good idea to have a look at your policy to see how many extras you can make the most of before it clocks over to a new year AND once you’ve done that, then have a look around the place to see which brands are offering great deals that you can take advantage of to reduce any out of pocket expenses you may need to cover.

We will leave you to it friends – happy hot deal hunting!

***Please note the stunning Specsavers deal is for a limited time only and that conditions do apply.
